Overview

This program is designed to raise prize money for exhibitors at Sport Horse Nationals, as well as rewarding the top sires. Payback at SHN will be 100% payout. Here is how it works:

Stallion owners donate a breeding to the program. These breedings are sold at 50% of their advertised fee. It is not an auction or a futurity. Breedings are sold on a first-come basis. This money is used as the prize money for the program. Stallions may be purebred Arabians, Anglo-Arabians, Half-Arabians, or non-Arabian. To win Payback prize money, the offspring must be registered with AHA, CAHR or CPAR and eligible to show at Arabian shows.

All foals sired by these stallions will be eligible to win the money. Horses not sired by these stallions are not eligible for the prize money. All foals sired by the donated stallions are eligible at any age for their entire life.

In order to donate a breeding, the stallion must have won a Class A Reserve Championship or better, have won an A-rated class or sanctioned race, or have met certain endurance qualifications. Show wins do not necessarily have to be in a sport horse discipline. The stallion is also eligible if he has sired a foal with any of the above listed wins. If the stallion is non-Arabian OR shown at open shows, then he must have won a class or championship at an A rated show (i.e. dressage, H/J, driving, in-hand) or in an approved event OR one of his offspring needs a similar accomplishment. (See full rules for details.)

The top two sires from each SHNs will receive 5% each of the total prize money available. All National Champion classes will count except equitation.

The Champion and Reserve Champion of the designated classes will win prize money. The Payback classes will include both Purebred and HA/AA classes in all disciplines. If the Champion and Reserve are NOT eligible horses, the Top Ten horse(s) will receive the Payback. Any unclaimed prize money from a particular class will be divided equally among eligible horses that go Top Ten or better in that class.

All get of donated stallions will be eligible to win the prize money throughout their life. If the stallion withdraws from the program, then any subsequent foals will be ineligible.
